The Triumph of Augustus was a celebration held in Rome in 28 BC to commemorate the victory of Octavian (later known as Augustus) over his enemies. The celebration was held in the city and included a parade of the spoils from the war, with prisoners of war, hostages, and other looted goods on display. Augustus himself was carried through the streets in a chariot, dressed in red and purple for the occasion, and followed by trumpeters and military bands. The celebration was also attended by senators, magistrates, and Roman citizens, and it was a show of the might and power of Augustus and the Roman Empire.
