Jaipur, India is known for its jewelry, so I was given a private behind-the-scenes tour of a jewelry factory. You'll see gems in their rough and polished form including sapphire, emerald, moonstone, amethyst, aquamarine, lapis lazuli, and red garnet. Many of the gems are imported from other countries, like the Australian Opal, but India does get the Star Ruby ruby from its own mines. I did purchase three small gems, a souvenir to remember my jewelry factory tour.
