(Kate Murphy) -- Scientists from the University of Illinois believe they may have found a way to stop cancer cell growth by using venom.
Their technique, using the venom from bees, snakes and scorpions was presented this week at the American Chemical Society Conference.
Although venom can hurt all cells, this technique in theory would only target cancer cells.
The work is in its early stages, but it has shown success in stopping breast cancer and melanoma cell growth in lab tests.
