30 years ago, on December 8th of 1991, the USSR has officially ceased to exist. Despite all the time that's passed, the Soviet influence on the Post-Soviet countries can still be seen today, and Russia is no exception. Besides the Soviet statues and mosaics that can be seen all throughout the former Soviet Union, Russia still houses one of the most important and interesting Soviet monuments ever - the Lenin Mausoleum. When the Soviet revolutionary Vladimir Lenin passed away in 1924, a decision was made to embalm his body and put it on display for the further generations. And today, in 2021, the Lenin Mausoleum still stands near the Kremlin on the Red Square in Moscow and is open for visiting. All of this brings up a question - if the USSR is over with, why is Lenin still on display in the Kremlin? Has anyone ever tried to take the mausoleum down? Who are the people that want it to stay and who are the people that want it gone? Let's talk about the Mausoleum and discuss why Lenin's body is still out there almost 100 years later. Smash like and sub for more thx xoxo
