This video explains the 4 stages of cognitive development as suggested by psychologist Jean Piaget.
Psychologist Piaget's theory of cognitive development states that a child passes through 4 stages of mental development to reach full mental potential. As per Piaget, these 4 stages are:

Stage 1 - Sensorimotor stage:( birth to 2 years)
Stage 2 - Preoperational stage (ages 2 to 7)
Stage 3 - Concrete operational stage (ages 7 to 11)
Stage 4 - Formal operational stage (ages 12 & above)

It further explains the characteristics of various stages.
i.e. symbolic thinking, abstract thinking, deductive & inductive reasoning
