Quintesson “ship” – One of my favorite designs to create for transformers one was the Quintesson mothership. The ship itself is a creature, if you look closely you can see its bladders and fascia in between each shell. We looked at the exotic and toxic colors from blue crabs, and its tendrils could suction in energon. Our goal was to make its scale and presence occupy as much visible space on the screen as possible. Josh, our director, and Chris Batty, our cinematographer, and I really pushed for a Dune level of scale.

D-16 / Megatron tears? – With the digital release now available, fans have started to notice some little details from the movie. One tweet from user @Fc20364 pointed out some shiny reflections on D-16/Megatron’s face during his battle with his former friend Orion Pax. Several users thought it could be “tears” running down his eyes or a reference to the leaking lubricant on Megatron’s face in the original Transformers Movie from 1986. In the same tweet, creative director Jason Scheier replied “I can confirm it’s all true”.
