GROVE CITY (Dawn Faugl) -- Nearly $50,000 worth of jewelry stolen, now police are trying to track down who broke into a home and pulled off the heist.
A burglar pried open a rear window to get inside the home, leaving marks on the windowsill. "I noticed kind of a dirt mark on the carpet and I thought, okay, somebody has been here," homeowner Terri McCabe told ABC 6/Fox 28.
But the burglar didn't leave much evidence behind. Investigators say the thief apparently went straight to the closet in her bedroom, and took every piece of jewelry McCabe owned. Tiffany bags were thrown all over the floor, but none of the electronics, or other items in the home were touched.
Neighbors say they didn't see anything suspicious. McCabe says she refuses to be scared in her own home, but hopes the burglar is caught soon, so everyone is safe.
"They're gone. Far worse could happen to me. I'm just kind of sad for that individual."
