BHINDI GOSHT – MEAT WITH FRIED OKRA
Hello friend!
Today I have a fun, delicious, and classic recipe for you – classic in my house at least! – bhindi gosht. Bhindi is okra, and gosht is meat of any kind – lamb, goat, or beef. In the recipe that I will be showing you today I am using lamb But you can use the same recipe for goat and if you prefer beef, use my recipe for beef gosht and then add the okra in this recipe.
The trick for this kind of recipe is that once you figure out how to make the meat base you can add any vegetable to it! If you want aloo gosht (meat and potato curry) add potatoes, if you want taper and gosht (meat and turnip curry) add turnips. It’s really quite simple once you get the hang of it. And if you have a pressure cooker it makes the whole thing that much simpler.
It’s a really easy recipe in that you can get it all together pretty quick and you could even freeze the meat base and defrost and add up your vegetables as needed. I know that my mom and her friends used that trick to feed their families.
