Johnson County Community College's Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT) programs regularly hold "reverse career fairs." Instead of employers setting up displays of their organizations for students to approach, students sit at tables and market themselves to recruiters. This format makes students the stars of the show. They represent the following programs:
• CS/CIS - Computer Science/Computer Information Systems
• CSS - Computer Support Specialist
• GAME - Game Development
• HCIS - Health Care Information Systems/Health Information Technology
• IT - Information Technology
• MIRM - Medical Information & Revenue Management/Medical Coding
• WEB - Web Development
• WEB - User Experience/Digital Media Web
At the reverse career fair, students present polished résumés and projects to potential employers. In addition to asking about job openings, they inquire about company culture, skills needed for success and opportunities for advancement.
