The path of the Moon's shadow across the United States during the annular solar eclipse of 2023 are seen on this map. North, Central, and South America will be in the path of an annular solar eclipse on October 14, 2023. When the Moon is at its farthest distance between Earth and the Sun, an annular solar eclipse happens. The Moon does not entirely hide the Sun since it is distant from Earth. For those who are standing in the line of annularity, this will provide a "ring of fire" effect in the sky.
