The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Government of Samoa, through its Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, will host the Pacific Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Solutions Forum from 28-30 November 2022 in Apia, Samoa.
The Pacific SIDS Solutions Forum will be held under the theme “working together to leave no one behind,” bringing together leaders from Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the Pacific as well as heads of technical and resource partner organizations.
Hundreds of public policymakers and practitioners, community leaders, farmers, entrepreneurs and private sector stakeholders will also join the event to present and discuss innovative Pacific-based solutions and opportunities to help bring about an agrifood systems transformation and defeat hunger and malnutrition for all.
The 2022 Pacific SIDS Solutions Forum is convened to follow up, and build upon, the global SIDS Solutions Forum of 2021. Participants will identify both challenges and country-specific and regional successes (good practices) from the Pacific. They will then consider the next steps of advancing the achievement of the SAMOA Pathway and 2030 agenda, in the context of COVID-19, climate change and the 5F crisis (food, fuel, feed, fertilizer, and financing) recovery.
The Forum will be held physically in Apia, Samoa but will also include virtual participation of partners and attendees via YouTube and Zoom livestream.
