Welcome to the MetCon Monday minute. Where fitness is made simple.
One minute on one topic, chosen by you every week.
So what is a MetCon workout?
Met Con is short for Metabolic Conditioning, a style of training made popular by the CrossFit community - it describes a type of workout usually comprising a mixture of cardio and strength exercises, and importantly a combination of anaerobic exercises (without oxygen) like sprints and aerobic exercises (with oxygen).
Are MetCon workouts for you? That kinda depends of what your fitness goals are, importantly MetCon’s are not just for Crossfitters but equally you’ll want to weight up if other type of training like Hight intensity Internal Training know as (HIIT) might better suit your goals – all of which I’ll look to dive into more detail in future videos.
Now MetCon workouts come in all different shapes and sizes and are build of exercises performed in different formats such as a ARAMP or EMOM – If you are thinking what on earth do those terms mean then check out the next video here where I’ll explain and dive into these in more detail.
Lastly and slightly confusingly MetCon is also a cross training style shoe by Nike, if you want more information about those check out these videos here.
