Kaddish is an emotive prayer. Its' meaning focuses on the sanctity of the inexplainable. The Shoah had moments of both, and certainly stands out as one of the greatest expressions of incomprehensibility ever witnessed. Each time I travel back to the hallowed and horrifying ground on which millions were murdered, I question my faith in humanity. But somehow, returning with hundreds of students over the last few years, each living as proud Jews - something so many died for - Kaddish seems to stun me back to reality. Trips to Poland have frozen and the last 2 years is the only time in the last decade that I haven't been. And so, as many are unable to be in a public ceremony, I share with you the opportunity to hear the Kaddish we said in Belzec and invite you to reflect with me.
