Warso Farm's durian garden must be familiar to durian fans. This agrotourism, which was founded by the late Soewarso Pawaka, a former Army colonel and entrepreneur whose hobby was eating durian, has been operating for 25 years. Located in the Cijeruk area, Bogor, Warso Farm's durian plantation is on an area of 23 hectares. With 1,500 durian trees consisting of 15 local and superior durian varieties. In accordance with its name as Agrotourism, visitors can freely enjoy the lush views of thousands of durian trees, while enjoying a variety of fresh durian harvested directly from the garden.
"The first durian harvest was in 1995. This durian garden began to be known by the public, then slowly it grew, and we added facilities such as restaurants, durian eating places, bale-bale, and gardens for visitors," said Catur Andriyanto, who has worked at Warso Farm for 12 years.
This is different from other tourist attractions which set a certain price for entrance tickets. At Warso Farm, everyone is free to enter the durian garden area and enjoy the view there. This goal was initiated by Pak Warso, who died in 2014. Pak Warso wants to leave a legacy as well as oxygen alms, through his durian garden.
Based on Catur's statement, it is known that there are more than 1,500 durian trees on this land. Meanwhile, Mr. Warso also has a dragon fruit garden on 8 hectares of land. For durian varieties, there are 15 types of durian ranging from Cane, Monthong, Petruk, Simas, to Matahari durian, all of which are available at Warso Farm.
