SHADE is a new initiative led by Dr. Westmoreland and SGA President James Hornsby. Together, they have recognized the need to replenish the tree population on campus. Due to drought and disease, several trees have been cut down in recent years. Now, our entire Samford community is supporting this initiative. As Dr. Westmoreland often says, “We sit in the shade of trees planted by those long before us.” During this week leading up to Mr. Beeson’s birthday, who figuratively planted the most trees for Samford’s future, we are asking you to plant your own tree for our bright future.
