Argo, Ben Affleck's thriller about the CIA's extraction of six American workers trapped in revolutionary Tehran, was nominated for seven Academy Awards. Iran was not as impressed.
According to the New York Times, reports from the country say the Iranian government plans to finance a movie that will correct the score in what "should be an appropriate answer to the film Argo, which lacks a proper view of historical events."
That comes from the director, Ataollah Salmanian, who also wrote the screenplay for the proposed film, which is being called The General Staff.
It's not exactly clear what the Iranians found historically inaccurate with Argo. But Kenneth Taylor, the Canadian ambassador to Iran at the time said that "it will be amusing to see what they take issue with."
