Follow Ruga the sea turtle as she takes a swim through Yaf Keru and her home reef...
Over the past 8 months, this lovely hawksbill been spotted multiple times in Yenbuba bay, and around our Yaf Keru reef restoration project there. How do we know it's the same hawksbill every time? The distinctive indentation on the right hand side of her shell! As you can see, she's not at all disturbed by the presence of calm and respectful divers, and is quite happy to swim alongside them 😍
Because we see her so frequently, we have started calling her Ruga (derived from the local word for turtle, 'Teteruga'). We're pleased to make your acquaintance Ruga, and we love to see you at Yaf Keru!
