It's a lot less difficult to grasp than the old quad-railed Picatinny handguards, but the surface of an AR-15 handguard with M-LOK® accessory-mounting slots can be a little slippery. It also doesn't always give you good feedback on where your hand is positioned. Relax. Problem solved. Brownells Gun Tech™ Caleb shows us the Forward Controls Design M-LOK® handguard cover. The MCF or "M-LOK Cover, Forward [Controls Design]" is made of tough yet lightweight machined G10 fiberglass composite with a dimpled texture covering the entire surface. Whatever angle you're reaching from, the MCF's dimples are gonna give you plenty of traction, so you can maintain a firm grasp on the handguard for excellent control of your rifle.
The M-LOK® T-nuts are hardened stainless steel, so once you clamp down an MCF on your handguard, it's not going anywhere until you decide to move it. The MCF comes in two sizes: one covers two M-LOK® slots, the other covers three slots. So you have plenty of customizing options. FCD also offers the MCF-A, a machined aluminum version that helps dissipate barrel heat. The PCM is a version of the MCF-A with cable-management provisions for remote switches on lights, laser-sights, and night vision devices.
BONUS: Whether your gun is a budget build or a "super-Gucci" custom rifle, Forward Controls Design M-LOK covers are going to look great on it. After all, dimples ARE cute!
