* The first-ever night street Formula 4 (F4) race in India took place in Chennai as part of the Indian Racing Festival 2024.

* This event, held from August 31 to September 1, 2024, featured a 3.5-kilometer circuit around the iconic Island Grounds.

*The track included 19 turns and long straights, offering an exhilarating experience for both drivers and spectators.

*This F4 race was supported by other events, such as car stunts and "hot laps" by bike riders, and it was also the venue for Round 2 of the JK Tyre-FMSCI Indian National Racing Championship.

*The event attracted around 9,000 spectators, making it a major motorsport occasion in Chennai.

*To manage the event, significant traffic diversions and road closures were implemented in key areas of the city.

*The event was organized by RPPL in collaboration with the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT), and it marked a significant milestone in Chennai's motorsport history.

*The 2024 Indian Racing Festival (IRF) Round 2 took place at the Chennai Formula Racing Circuit, marking the first-ever night street race in India. The event featured multiple racing categories, including the JK Formula LGB F4, Formula 4 Indian Driver's Championship, and the Indian Racing League (IRL).

*Formula 4 Indian Driver's Championship:

#Race 1 Winner:
Hugh Barter (Australia) from Godspeed Kochi, who dominated the race with a 7.299-second lead.

#Race 2 Winner: Aqil Alibhai (South Africa) from Black Birds Hyderabad, rebounded from a retirement in Race 1 to win the second race.

*Indian Racing League (IRL):

#Race 1 Winner: Raoul Hyman from Goa Aces JA Racing.

#Race 2 Winner: Alvaro Parente from Speed Demons Delhi, who defended his lead against Sohil Shah from Goa Aces.
