A female golden pheasant is only interested in eating from my hand but is continually pestered by a young male. He displays by making himself look as big as possible from the side, fanning out his tail feathers and raising the feathers on his back. You can also hear the hissing sound he makes when he displays. They are both around 10 months old, so the female is probably too young to be interested in him and she certainly hadn't laid any eggs yet.
