Disc 4 has the best bosses. It took some reverting back to old saves to get everything I wanted but it was worth it. I really enjoyed this challenge run. Stressless, no skill needed, and full with childhood memories. I highly recommend this challenge run, if you love FF8.
00:00 Adel
She goes down so easy when you finally get the right rng. I should have set the battle speed option to slow to have more time to select Limit Breaks before her turn but whatever.
02:22 Sorceresses gauntlet
Bad Breath really saved me from an insane rng grind. You can get it by letting Odin kill a Marlboro (no killing hit extra exp) and giving the exp to Edea (she won't level up from it!)
23:05 Tri-Point
The big one. Potentially a massive grind. This boss counter-oneshots everyone if I attack it directly so I needed a lot of things to go right. I had only the high level GFs to keep my average GF level high (no Diablos, no Brothers) so that Gilgamesh would be high level as well. Then I needed Gilgamesh to use Masamune AND it had to be a critical hit AND the boss had to be the lowest possible level version (as in doing only 30 damage/normal attack). Then all I had to do was to normal attack with Squall and not miss. Really surprised that Squall did enough damage with initial weapon.
People have usually grinded this for many days, I only had to grind for 2 hours. I feel extremely lucky.
24:56 Sphinxaur/Sphinxara
Damage/rng test. Easy
27:40 Tiamat
First try
31:25 Red Giant
I feel like I could have killed him much faster but whatever.
38:11 Catoblebas
Annoying grind to get the Invincible Moon so boss won't oneshot when it dies.
42:37 Trauma
I never fought this boss 20 years ago because I didn't understand the puzzle. Still don't understand the puzzle.
45:37 Gargantua
Felt like the hardest castle boss after Tri-Point for some reason. I dunno.
49:37 Krysta
Another Invincible Moon grind.
53:04 Diablos
lol
55:32 Brothers
lols
58:31 Ultimecia and UrMumsUndies (Griever)
Actually very fun and nostalgic 6 hour rng grind. Getting both Quistis and Rinoa in your team consistently can be done by finding the right rng-seed by entering the boss fight at the certain time every time. I used the music and entered the battle when the organs started blasting. Needed to get Invincible Moon before killing the phase two (Griever). Absolutely perfect attack pattern rng in the last phase.
Omega Weapon will be in a different video.
I will try to beat Bahamut for a while, but most likely I won't do it. The forced two Ruby Dragons before Bahamut give out exp so they have to be turned to stone by Break spell (Selphie's slots) or Bad Breath by Quistis, but they are resistant to Break and another fight is often an ambush encounter so it could take weeks of rng grind and then I'd have to get lucky with Bahamut right after them. No one has killed Bahamut without save states under these restrictions and this is a 20 years old game so most likely I can't do it either.
Ultima Weapon comes after Bahamut, and I probably won't kill Bahamut.
