12 Squadron Typhoons Hotpitting at RAF Coningsby

What is Hot Pitting?
Hot Pitting is when the Military jet returns to a safe area and the ground crew will refuel the airplane on the ground with the engines running. They can also possible change the crew, re arm etc.
This enables the jet to return to combat patrol etc with no Air to Air tanker.

We have seen the USAF do this at RAF Lakenheath and i think this is the 4th time at RAF Coningsby.
