The cost of owning an electric vehicle in New Jersey just went up thanks to an additional annual EV registration fee that started on July 1.To register a zero emissions vehicle, owners now have to pay the regular registration fee plus an additional yearly fee of $250. This will increase $10 per year for the next four years, according to the governor's office.
