One of the most distinctive flowering architectural plants, Viburnum plicatum 'Mariesii' has layers of tabulated (tiered) branches, clothed in flat white flower umbels in early summer.
The flowers stand out well against the dark green summer leaves. The leaves turn pretty shades of dark red before falling in autumn.
Viburnum plicatum 'Mariesii' is a striking, stand-alone garden shrub and also exceptionally attractive when trained against a sunny wall or fence!
