Read Lead is an educational initiative that provides literacy and leadership opportunities for youth and young adults. Through strategic partnerships, the organization assists the community by providing literacy-based summer and after school programs, leadership institutes, and college preparedness workshops. Founded in 2011 by Cassandra Chase and Joy Masha, Read Lead is led by young professionals who are innovative in their approach to improve the educational landscape within the community.
Read Lead CDF Freedom Schools program provides high quality summer school enrichment for low income students and their families. The program builds scholars' self-esteem, increases their fondness for reading and introduces them to various activities not provided by the traditional school system.
