Gates of the Arctic National Park is the premier wilderness park in the National Park Service system. No roads or trails lead into the park from the outside. While the park is known for its populations of moose, Dall sheep, and migrating birds and caribou, it is also home to separate groups of Native Alaskans, the Koyukon Athabascans and Nunamiut Eskimos.
