We're back in Bolzano for this week's virtual treadmill walk. As we walk around exploring and discovering, we have to wonder if the city is more like Germany or Austria, or like Italy. It used to belong to Austria-Hungary until after WWI, but has spent the last hundred years as part of Italy. The architecture of the shops and hotels and restaurants definitely lean Germanic. But the spirit of the place seems more Italian to me. Either way, it's a beautiful, welcoming, bustling city in the Dolomites with great food and surrounded by beautiful nature. What better place for our treadmill workout and to burn off the fat from all those cioccolada dense? The Bolzano weather is a bit variable but pleasant.
