It's Christmas time and I am very happy to record this sonata movement finally! It's one of those MANY pieces that I played long time ago but never played the whole thing satisfactorily, especially the fast passages in the development section from 1:47 to 3:22. This month I spent some time to really tackle it. I also put some serious effort to improve the playing last weekend and finally got this version. Certainly it is far from perfect. But I have tried my best in my limited timeframe. I hope you enjoy :)
The Piano Sonata No. 10 in G major, Op. 14, No. 2, composed in 1798–1799, is an early-period work by Ludwig van Beethoven, dedicated to Baroness Josefa von Braun. A typical performance lasts 15 minutes. While it is not as well known as some of the more original sonatas of Beethoven's youth, such as the Pathétique or Moonlight sonatas, Donald Francis Tovey described it as an 'exquisite little work.'

Difficulty Rating – I made this chart for tracking my progress. Bracket indicates the approximate ABRSM grading. Please use it as reference only as it is my personal opinion (except those real exam pieces that I know) and difficulty is sometimes rather subjective. I own no professional qualification on ranking pieces! Feel free to leave comment/feedback if you disagree with my ranking of a piece. Discussions are welcome! 🙂
