Editing Details:
Top Gun 2 was a box office hit. I knew I had to make Top Gun 3 dream trailer. Even though I’m not big fan of the franchise, my love for 80’s music and being a fan of Tom Cruise made me enjoy editing the trailer. It took a little bit longer than I planned because I wanted to make the trailer good since its Top Gun is a popular franchise. Its great knowing that by the time I’m making the trailer I have not seen a single fan made trailer made yet, so its exciting to be the first. Upon researching I’m grateful to find a lot of fresh clips, from Tom Cruise, the cast and jet action scenes that would make Top Gun 3 dreamt trailer great.
Act 1 begins showing the characters mourning the lost of Tom. Then I build it up showing our main characters preparing to fly. With the help of the line from DEVOTION, “You know the only person I’ve ever met, belong in the sky” to make Penny talk about Pete since he loves flying jets. Tom had a funny video from James Corden doing a parody of Top Gun, which helped add fresh clips. The line “This morning was easy” is good to talk about their practice, then I made Tom say “What’s next is nothing you have faced before”. To level up the plot for a 3rd Top Gun film I added more action, so I showed scenes from Jet movies in battle which the team has never done before. Then for the epic ending I found clip from a video game of the pilot falling off a jet which I made to be Tom Cruise.
