Recep Tayyip Erdogan has declared victory and thanked his supporters in a speech as polls suggest it is likely the autocrat will cling onto power for a third decade. While the official result is yet to be announced, polls from pro and opposition agencies alike place the president in the lead against his secular opposition rival Kemal Kilicdaroglu. With three quarters of the votes in, Erdogan remains ahead at 52.4 per cent with Kilicdaroglu at 46.6 per cent of the vote share.
