Being gay in Japan can be very difficult. There is so much pressure from society to stay hidden, especially towards the LGBT+ Japanese community. Is it the same for foreigners? To the potential or current LGBTQ+ ALTs, I want you to think about your role in Japan, and how you can create positive change here, as well as explore what you can expect. I asked LGBTQ+ people in Japan, both foreign and local, to share their experiences and opinions with me. This is a small group of people and cannot be applied to the entire community, but it is a real group of people with very real experiences.
