Structural steel software by Steel Projects takes FICEP’s Intelligent Steel Fabrication to another level. The PLM software addresses and organizes the entire fabrication process to take advantage of today’s steel fabrication technology and techniques.
PLM starts with the flexibility to import diverse file types such as DSTV, XML IFC and more. Once the fabrication job has been imported it can easily be managed and viewed in both 2 D and 3 D formats. This permits a visual review of the parts and assemblies that have been imported. If issues are identified they can easily be edited prior to fabrication.
The total job or sequence can be reviewed to determine weight, surface area, section types, lengths etc. As part of the process PLM identifies the required processes such as drilling, sawing, coping, bending, cleaning just to mention a few.
Since the XML file format allows the importing of assemblies not just parts all the intersecting of sections can be identified. With this information the PLM software can automatically develop the program to scribe the intersecting locations, orientation of the mating section and weld symbols. The scribing process can be optimized by PLM to achieve maximum efficiency when performing the scribing operation.
The structural steel parts can be nested to maximize material utilization based upon current stock and or material to be purchased. Plates can also be nested taking into consideration the existing stock and material available for purchase.
Complete assortments of standard reports are available to further identify and review the fabrication task before, during and after the process through your plant.
