On the 2nd of July 1922 the first instance of fighting in the Civil War in Wexford occurred when Free State forces clashed with Anti-Treaty IRA in Enniscorthy town. Three days later and similar would occur in Ferns village. Both conflicts resulting in three dead and many wounded.
Historian in Residence Barry Lacey will discuss these events which marked the outbreak of the Civil War in county Wexford looking at their background, the fighting itself and the aftermath.
