Israel struck the centre of Tyre, Lebanon, for the first time since the conflict began. This followed Israeli air strikes that caused fear and panic after ordering the forced evacuation of densely populated areas. Tyre’s Civil Defence urged residents to leave immediately, closing city entrances to prevent further entries. The areas targeted for evacuation are situated between two UNESCO World Heritage sites—the Roman-era Hippodrome and the Egyptian port ruins. Lebanon's culture minister voiced concern over the fate of these historic sites and called for international protection amidst the ongoing bombardment.
