This is a lesser trafficked museum along the National Mall. I’m not sure why. It is as beautiful of a museum and the exhibits are just as interesting and educational as any of the other Smithsonian buildings exhibits. I really like how they have different sections here showing the particular regions art and artifacts. This method allows one an easier path to immerse themselves in a specific culture and timeframe. Late July 2021 on a very hot Sunday afternoon I came here and was very excited because, other than a quick jaunt through here several years back I had never explored the wonders of this museum. It has a sister museum nearby too. The Arthur M. Sackler Gallery and that reopens in November 2021. I cannot wait to check that place out.
