Kanyakumari is significant because it is the meeting place of three oceans, viz., Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea. Hence, the southern beach of Kanyakumari is also known as Triveni sangam. At this point there is Kanyakumari temple, Shankaracharya temple, Gandhi Mandapam, 16 pillar mandapam, Sunrise point etc. This is a mind blowing place. The view of Vivekananda Rock at the background and mighty waves hitting gigantic stones in the sea create marvelous scenery. You may like to go to this place on everyday. This is a must visit for anybody going to kanyakumari. As the Sunrise is visible first at this point, it is also called the Sunrise point. There is also a Sunset point in Kanyakumari which is 2 kms west to Sunrise point.
