In looking for a way to educate shoppers on how to cook meat and seafood, Jewel-Osco is hosting monthly Perfect Pairing cooking classes at their popular downtown in-store bar, Kinzie on the Rocks.
Jewel-Osco asked Moët & Chandon to team up for the seventh edition, to create a menu that would teach customers what wine and champagne would pair best with a specific recipe.
Celebrity Chef Emily Ellyn, also known as the Retro Rad Chef was brought on board to lead the hands-on cooking class with Frigo Cheese and Moët wines and champagnes, teaching guests how to make delectable dishes such as fresh salad with homemade vinaigrette, and ricotta gnocchi with shrimp and a browned butter herb sauce.
Guests arrived and were greeted with a welcome drink of Chandon Rosé . The ticket purchase allowed one person and their guest come and craft the following meals:
Appetizer:
- Frigo cheese platter featuring Fresh Mozzarella, Whole Milk Ricotta, Crumbled Blue Cheese, and Crumbled Feta Cheese
- Drink Pairing: Moët Imperial Brut
Main Course:
- Homemade Ricotta Gnocchi with shrimp and a brown butter herb sauce
- Drink Pairing: Veuve Clicquot Rosé
Dessert
- Tiramisu with fresh berries
- Drinking Pairing: Moët Imperial Nectar Rosé
Guests were also delighted by a surprise after-dinner drink of Dom Perignon!
A delightfully fun and delicious experience was had by everyone in attendance!
