Mitoc is a village located in Orhei District, Moldova. The geographical position towards Chisinau (the capital of Moldova) is 49 km and only 1 km from the district center (Orhei). Nowadays, on a surface of 1.776 ha, Mitoc has a population of 2872 citizens and 945 households.
🧐From 1609 the village was identified until attestation as "Vatra Iazului" and afterward, in 1659, the village was attested with the name "Mitoc", given by monks from Neamtu Monastery which means “small monastery subordinated to a greater one”.
