Another video of me covering Nirvana. Today Live At The Paramount cover again in spirit of alternative universe where Kurt loves gibson style guitars and doesn´t like fender style guitars.
As I write in previous videos description this guitar is not mine. It is my friends guitar that I am repairing/reworking for him. I absolutely love this guitars setup that I did and the punky looks of it...
The bridge pickup is 7kOhm humbucker that was originally in the neck position since original bridge pickup was too dark/dead for cleans and had 15kOhm impedance. The neck pickup is now singlecoil from mustang because my friend and I don´t like humbuckers in neck position. Originally I wanted to install P-90 from my Harley Benton MR-Classic to this Les Paul but I didn´t want to route the body so naturally unused singlecoil that was lying on table for 2 years was an option...
Gear:
SX Les Paul (HS mod)
Boss DS-2
Line6 HX Stomp
Chain: FX Loop (DS-2) -- Chorus -- Vox AC30 -- Graphic EQ -- Creamback 75 + G12T-75 IRs -- Hall Reverb
I know Kurt didn´t use Vox AC30 and that in Line6 HX Stomp there is Mesa Mark head with graphic eq but since I use it all the time with my band I didn´t want to use it again. And I think that it made very good job. I used combination of two IRs. The G12T-75 (I think 80s white label) is 3dB louder than the Creamback 75...
Cheers Nirvana...
Enjoy Holidays!
