THE MASTERS OF FLAVORS: Corsica
A film written by Anaïs Kagny and directed by Eric Ellena
French cuisine is one of the richest and most appreciated in the world. But where does its global success and its reputation for diversity come from?
With the help of around twenty foreign chefs, who have fallen in love with our country and its excellent products, we set off to discover the secrets of our terroirs and the history of our gastronomy, in ten French regions.
In all simplicity, we follow chefs in farms, vineyards and markets, in their quest for authentic or new products. We discover their new ideas in the kitchen, their inventiveness and their personal touch, especially when they revisit certain essentials of our culinary heritage. These foreign chefs tell us about their passion for our country, its cuisine and its unique flavors. They talk about French gastronomy without complex, making it easy to understand and so creative.
Finally, we share a tasting of their most successful dishes in the company of a food critic, their suppliers or their guests.
Corsica knows how to be hospitable for those who take the time to discover its terroir and its specialities. This is the case of the English chef Simon Andrews in Ajaccio and the Italian chef Fabio Bragagnolo in Porto Vecchio. If they knew how to keep an Italian or English touch in their cuisine, the two chefs also knew how to highlight the culinary richness of the island and its unequaled flavors. We follow them in their quest for the authentic product among local producers of veal, cheeses, saffron, olive oil, oysters and bluefin tuna before tasting their delicious dishes.
