This is a video of a canoe trip with portages from Old Forge NY to Stony Creek / Axton Landing. This is the first 65 miles of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail (NFCT). There were 8 Portages on this route.
We started at Old Forge, went through the Fulton Chain of Lakes, to Browns Tract, to Raquette Lake, to Forked Lake through the Raquette River to Long Lake and back on the Raquette River. 5 days, 4 nights.
We camped at Alger Island, Eighth Lake, Tioga Point and Long Lake. Reservations were required for Alger Island and Tioga Point.
