Women across Africa have always been at the forefront of resolving conflict for as long as we can remember, in this interview with AllAfrica, African Union (AU) special envoy, Mme Bineta Diop and the Deputy Prime Minister of Namibia, Madame Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, both stress that women’s inbuilt skill in resolving conflict, a skill they are naturally and traditionally empowered to do, must be brought to the public light. She stressed that a failure to do that will make the prospects of conflict continue, a situation where peace cannot be sustained.
They both stressed a need for more Women PeaceBuilders Ahead of AU Forum on Women, Peace and Security.
