The Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development (IGF) offers member governments the opportunity to have their policies, laws and regulations assessed by experts.
The IGF's MPF Assessment identifies strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement by comparing existing practices with the ideals laid out in its flagship Mining Policy Framework.
Suriname -- one of IGF's founding members -- is currently revising its mining policies and requested assistance from the IGF Secretariat.
