Infinitely scaling images is infamous TV trope. That's why it was so surprising to see Machine Learning Image Scaling in Pixelmator Pro actually work. The “ML Super Resolution” option will triple the width of an image and triple the height of an image, increasing the size of the image nine times.
Yet, the result is not a blocky mess. The image editing app attempts to look for edges, shapes, and patterns, to intelligently scale an image. It's wild! The video shows an example ML Super Resolution in action by scaling a low resolution image from 2009.
While this is an amazing feature, it's just one of the things that Pixelmator Pro can do. If you're starting in Photography, you'll likely need an image editor. While it's common for people to suggest Adobe Photoshop, that's expensive. Pixelmator Pro is an inexpensive alternative to Adobe Photoshop. It's one of the main reasons why I use a Mac.
This video starts a new series of Photography videos on Photics.TV. Originally, Photics was started because of an interest in Photography. However, the world has changed. Everyone is a photographer today, as highlighted in the video.
