How easily to convert any wired headphones to wireless! Add bluetooth functionality to any 3.5mm audio system; speakers, headphones, earbuds and more!
I'll show you a few ways to add a wireless connection to your headphones, it's super easy to do and doesn't require any soldering and it's pretty cheap. I did this mod a few years ago on some of my cheapo headphones using the BlueAnt Ribbon and it worked well. I wanted to revisit this as a solution for my larger BeyerDynamic DT-880's as I use them a lot and the cable is getting annoying.
Instead of going with a premade solution like from BlueAnt, I wanted to build my own so I could choose the PCB and also provide my own battery. I wanted to be able to pack a ton of power so I wouldn't have to charge as often. The batteries will add some weight to the headphones but it's not too bad.
It's pretty straightforward but I'll show you all of the steps I took to build this module and maybe you will be inspired to choose one of these methods and convert your own favorite headphones to wireless. If you already have some batteries and headphones, you can get a bluetooth module for super cheap (some are just a couple bucks!) just plug them together and use some zip ties to coil up the wires and it's a quick and reversible solution.
I'm using some 18650 cells from an old laptop battery that didn't work anymore, but some of the cells were still good. You don't need to use rechargeable batteries, you can get some cheap cell holders for alkaline batteries too, you can use a power bank, there are a lot of options! I'm just showing you a couple of ways that you could set this up. Hopefully this how-to tutorial will get you up and running quickly and easily.

\\ DIY Wireless Headphones \\
1. The Headphones
I'm converting these BeyerDynamic DT-880s I've had for a long time, they're some of the most comfortable headphones I've ever used and they sound great.
2. The Batteries
Just some used 18650 cells from a blown ThinkPad battery that I salvaged. I'm wiring two together in parallel so they should provide a very long runtime.
3. The Bluetooth Wireless Adapter
I bought this PCB off aliexpress, [[ Ссылка ]] it's a bit more expensive than some of the others available, but it does have a built-in amplifier. It sounds very good and connects quickly and the wireless signal is strong.
