In this episode Daniel shows you how to get a punchy drum sound using only two microphones.

It is not always necessary to use many microphones to get a huge drum sound. Sometimes it is better to use only two or even one microphone that was in front of the kit. But then you gotta be able to create the energy of the bass drum afterwards, when mixing. Likewise, the mixer must be able to give the snare size and snap, even without a snare mic. This works especially well with analog outboard.
