1. Buying Skinless Chicken Breast
- I felt like a literal idiot the other day
- So I was looking to buy some chicken breast, and for two large skinless and bones chicken breasts, they were charging me about $8
- And for an entire chicken it cost me roughly $5.78
However:
- You may say, Tommy it’s less than $2 of a difference and you save time
- But its not just $2 bro
- Its literally getting you 8 cuts of chicken vs just 2 cuts
- That’s literally 75% more chicken for less money ( I mean that’s a bargain )
This process of cutting chicken might take forever ( but I follow Meatdad 1 aka Anthony and his been butcher for more than a decade )
- And with some patients and practice is duable
- Instead of eating for 2 days I can eat for like 4-5 days
- Its pretty good
2. Making my Ground Beef
- People always told me they make ground beef from the left over meat
- So you don’t really know what you’re eating
- And it can come from 100s of different cows not even just one cow
- And I remember ground chicken and seeing a guy make a video and the kids still eat it and didn’t care but once you know you kinda care honestly
The solution
- Buy your own Meat Grinder on Amazon its like 40-$60 a one-time investment with warranty if you get a good one
- And then you buy your own cuts at the store, that you know exactly what they content
- Meat dad used Tri Tip Roast which cost him about $4.82 per lb
Ps. Meat dad is a professional butcher, so what he recommends is usually high-end in a way. But for the common folks we can get away with paying less
What can I do with that:
- Make my own burgers
- My own meat balls and more
3. Ignore Brands and GO for Quality
- I’m honest surprised to say this but I don’t know a single meat brand
- I remember tyson was used and then a lot fo stuff got said about their meat
- But when I go shopping for meat, I’m looking for quality not brand
One quick way to do is:
- When I go to Costco I’m looking for fancy packaging or easy to make stuff
- I’m looking for quality because convenience can be a little too expensive honesty
Example:
- Today I went to the grocery store
- I was looking to buy some ribs, I saw raw ribs and I saw ribs that were fully cooked and just required 5 minutes in the microwave
- That’s pretty disgusting and expensive
4. Get creative with the meals you cook
- Instead of buying a bunch of different cuts
- I can buy cuts for grounding in ground beef
- And with that I can make literally 59 meals
For example:
- Burgers ones day
- Meatballs and spaghetti the next
- Lasagna the next
- My point is, you can make a lot of meals and save a lot of money
5. Don’t waste money on deli meat
- My favorite turkey breast ham slices is about 8 lbs per pound almost
- Instead, I can buy whole chucks and slice it at home for maybe 3-4lbs
- Now will I become a butcher no
