Some new developments being reported from the vaccine front reveal that the life of Covishield has been extended to nine months. India’s drug regulator has approved the expiry period for the vaccine to be increased from the previous six after concerns regarding its wastage were raised. The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine against coronavirus is locally manufactured and sold by the Serum Institute of India (SII) which has started the production before being granted emergency use authorisation for use in India on January 3.
