This is a Greek song that was sung after the fall of the Far-Right (Fascist) Military Junta in Greece (1967 - 1974) that claimed the lives of many innocent Greeks and destroyed the very meaning of Democracy by arresting Leftists and putting them in harsh conditions. Mikis Theodorakis was arrested but when the Military Junta fell, he gained his freedom and was a voice for the Greek people!
