British Paralympic athlete Joe Townsend is a self-taught 3D printing user.

Before he learned about 3D printing, Joe was hand cycling and wheelchair racing at high speeds - but using equipment that was taking a toll on his body. To avoid ongoing injuries, he knew he needed custom equipment. That's where Markforged comes in. Using Markforged software and printers, Joe taught himself how to print strong, lightweight custom gear that allowed him to keep racing and avoid a second reconstructive shoulder surgery. This is his story.
